🧀 The Parmesan Dressing You’re Going to Put on Everything This Summer

I’m warning you right now:

Once you make this Parmesan Dressing, you’re going to start putting it on absolutely everything.

Salads.
Vegetables.
Sandwiches.
Wraps.
Grilled chicken.
Dip trays.
Probably straight from the spoon at some point too.

Because first of all—it’s delicious.

But second? It’s incredibly versatile, which is exactly the kind of recipe I love having in my refrigerator during the warmer months.

✨ Why You’ll Love It

This is one of those recipes that instantly upgrades everyday meals without requiring much effort.

It’s rich and savory from the parmesan, bright and flavorful, and adaptable enough to become multiple dressings depending on what you add to it.

And let’s be honest—having one homemade dressing in the refrigerator that can work five different ways makes summer meals feel so much easier.

🌿 Make It Your Own

One of my favorite things about this dressing is how customizable it is.

You can:

  • Thin it with a little milk for a creamier, pourable dressing
  • Add fresh dill for a ranch-style flavor
  • Stir in red pepper flakes for heat
  • Add blue cheese for a bold dipping sauce

Or honestly? Leave it exactly as it is and use it as a dip for vegetables, wings, or roasted potatoes.

It’s the kind of recipe that evolves with whatever you’re making.

🧄 Easy Is Always Allowed

And let me say this loudly for the people in the back:

You do not need to make this difficult.

If you have a high-speed blender, great—you can blend chunks of parmesan beautifully.

But if purchased grated parmesan makes your life easier?

Use it.

Every single time.

Because homemade cooking should feel approachable, especially in the summer when we’d all rather spend more time outside and less time fussing in the kitchen.

❤️ The Health Benefits

Beyond flavor, this dressing also has some nutritional benefits that make it feel a little more balanced than many store-bought options.

Parmesan cheese is naturally rich in calcium and protein while also containing phosphorus and vitamin B12, which support bone health and energy production.

When using Greek yogurt , you’re also getting potassium and magnesium. Plus, many varieties contain live probiotics (“good bacteria”) that support digestion and may help balance your gut microbiome

Fresh herbs like dill can provide additional antioxidants and digestive support, while garlic and spices often included in dressings like this contain anti-inflammatory compounds and immune-supporting benefits.

And because you’re making it yourself, you control the ingredients—meaning fewer preservatives and unnecessary additives than many bottled dressings.

🥄 How to Make It

½ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
½ cup finely grated parmesan cheese
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 clove garlic, minced
2–4 tbsp milk (to thin)
Salt and pepper to taste
chives or green onions

In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, parmesan, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper. Add milk a little at a time until you reach a pourable consistency. Chill until ready to use. Serve garnished with freshly snipped chives or sliced green onions.

Makes 1 cup

☀️ A Summer Refrigerator Staple

This is the kind of recipe that quietly becomes part of your regular routine.

The one you keep in the refrigerator “just in case.”

And before long, you realize you’ve used it three times in one week.

Those are always the best recipes.

Here’s to easy summer cooking, versatile staples, and dressings good enough to drizzle on everything!

Save me a bite!
